Title: Systems Engineer - Switching - Tulsa, OK
Location: Oklahoma-Tulsa
The Systems Engineer Switching is responsible for providing engineering support for USCC switching centers. The position performs capacity planning, equipment ordering, and engineering assignments along with preparing engineering documentation for system augmentations.

* Specify and order switching equipment, power plant equipment and ancillary MTSO (Mobile Telephone Switching Office) equipment.
* Perform capacity planning analysis to ensure capacity service margin is maintained.
* Monitors switch peripheral requirements and collects performance data.
* Performs engineering assignments for all change activity in the MTSO following vendor published engineering guidelines.
* Coordinate the ordering, delivery, and installation of MTSO modifications. This will include an analysis of the existing power and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) requirements of the site and any modifications that would be required to support the increased load.
* Determine equipment placement and maintain as built drawings of the switch room layout for switch equipment and ancillary components.
* Assigns and maintains bay numbering sequence to all switch room components.
* Support Network Operations switch engineers by providing required information on MTSO upgrades.
* Maintains awareness of upcoming technical changes that may have impact on switch performance (e.g. Software loads)
and makes appropriate plans to ensure that the switches conform to company specifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related experience preferred.
* 3-5 years experience with capacity planning and ordering of switch equipment.
* Familiarity with Nortel (Ericsson) switch platforms, AnyPath Voice Messaging, Tellabs DACs a plus
* Strong Excel skills with high level data analysis needed
* Experience in General Telecom Practices a plus.
* Ability to work as a cross-functional team required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
