Leads and oversees the Testing in support of U.S. Cellular® Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence projects. Establish and ensure adherence to the test processes and methodologies for test planning and test execution. Champions, supports and educates associates on test processes and methodologies. Collaborates with Business Partners and IS teams to facilitate timely planning and execution of Testing. Responsible for developing the data coverage/strategies to support the testing effort. Manages Quality Assurance engineers and business partners during test execution activities. Accountable for testing quality and effectiveness; which includes developing the test approach for the project test strategy, developing the test plan, managing detailed test case design and timelines, scheduling resources, conducting test execution, evaluating test results and reporting overall test results.

Test Work

·     Identifies solution gaps or inconsistencies across multiple projects.
·     Identifies cross project dependencies within a release or program.
·     Using technical knowledge and experience, independently performs advanced root cause analysis on complex code issues/bugs, and consults with the development team on possible resolution. May make recommendations based on analysis.
Using standard test strategy and plan templates writes and owns the test documents for each project. Requires clear understanding of business requirements in order to write test strategies and plans to ensure all critical functionality is included and works as designed.
·     Designs the testing protocol based on the assessment and analysis of the technology/application. This involves creating, managing and approving testing documents and testing schedules and reviewing the testing steps to ensure completion and flow. Using previous experience and technical knowledge, needs to analyze and assess the interdependencies of the tests and applications and the technology/applications that will be affected by the tests.
·     Utilizes automated testing tools to execute tests.
·     Using technical knowledge performs basic root cause analysis on code issues/bugs and consults with the development team on possible resolution.
·     Co-ordinates and execute multiple phases of testing.
·     Identifies documents and facilitates resolution and communication of defects, issues and decisions.
·     Facilitates meetings with testing team(s), development team, and business owners.
·     Responsible for providing estimates to managers and project managers for testing deliverables.
·     Document and share new test procedures and techniques.
·     Reconcile test results from different tests and different groups.
·     Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, as well as compliance to company and team processes.

Technical Consulting and Analysis
·     Analyzes, develops, implements and drives adoption of new or modified quality assurance procedures, templates and processes.
·     Based on analysis and interpretation of technology/applications, provides technical consultation and recommendations to management to ensure the development and implementation of quality IT systems and software throughout the project life cycle.


User Acceptance Testing
·     Plans, coordinates and monitors UAT test design and execution in collaboration with the Project Manager and Enterprise Test Management (ETM) Test Lead for the Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence space. 
·     Engages with appropriate Business Partner testing resources throughout the project lifecycle; including review of business requirements and participation in business case analysis meetings, coordination of test participants during test execution and ensuring final Business Partner approval of UAT Testing Results Summary to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
·     Creates UAT test strategy as input to the overall Test Strategy. Develops the UAT Test Plan and facilitates Work Product Review (WPR) of UAT Test Plan.
·     Develops UAT Test Cases, as required, and coordinates review of UAT Test Cases.  Defines UAT test environment and ensures the identified UAT test environment is available as planned. Coordinates design of test data for UAT testing.
·     Establishes the UAT test schedule and coordinates the execution of UAT test activities with Business Partner and vendors. Prepares for and conducts daily UAT Testing Status Meetings during UAT test execution. Prepares test metrics and defect reporting.
·     Ensures requirements traceability by overseeing the mapping UAT Test Cases to appropriate business requirements in the Requirements Traceability Matrix and in Quality Center.

Communication and Reporting

·     Defines, reports, and analyzes test and productivity metrics and trends. Makes recommendations and advises the testers on ways to improve their efficiencies and also to the Software Development team on ways to make development more efficient.

The Senior Performance Test Engineer is involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle which includes estimating the performance test effort, reviewing non-functional requirements and compiling performance test results. At the start of a program, the Senior Performance Test Engineer works with Business Analysts, Application Architects and various Business Partners to ascertain performance requirements. This is followed by close collaboration with application Development Leads, Infrastructure Leads and Testers to develop, review and execute performance test cases. The Senior Performance Test Engineer has the primary responsibility to determine the scope and plan the performance test approach, develop and execute performance test scripts, record and manage performance defects, and communicate issues, risks and status on a timely basis. The Senior Performance Test Engineer will utilize industry leading performance test tools and follow established U.S. Cellular® SDLC and testing processes to plan and execute performance tests.

Test Work
· Broad knowledge of web technology, including SOA and MVC architecture, plus the ability to quickly ascertain performance risks and propose a performance testing approach.
· Using a standard test strategy and plan templates, able to clearly articulate the performance test strategy, identify performance related risks and mitigation plans. Escalate issues on timely manner to management.
· Develops and executes performance scripts, test scenarios based on performance requirements using HP LoadRunner tool set.
· Do mathematical / statistical and analytical calculations on work load models, volume calculations and performance test
· Utilizes automated testing tools to execute tests when necessary to validate performance.
· Using technical knowledge performs basic root cause analysis on code issues/bugs and consults with the development team or infrastructure team on possible resolution.
· Co-ordinates and execute multiple phases of testing.
· Identifies documents and facilitates resolution and communication of defects, issues and decisions.
· Facilitates meetings with testing team(s), development team, and business owners.
· Responsible for providing estimates to managers and project managers for testing deliverables.
· Document and share new performance test procedures and techniques.
· Reconcile test results from different releases and different test environments.
· Ensure PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, as well as compliance to company and team processes.

Communications and Reporting
· Provides metrics reporting on performance test progress, execution and defects.
· Identifies and reports performance testing issues and risks to test lead and/or program manager on a timely basis at the appropriate level of detail.
· Communicate status / risks to manager regarding delivering solution on time.
· Engages others to promote, teach, and refine team processes within and outside of the testing group.
· Persuasive communication within the project team.
· Presents final results and makes recommendations to Business Owners and Management.

People and Project Management
· Serves as a performance test lead for assigned projects, and assignments.
