Title: Infrastructure Engineer I-IBM Tivoli Specialist - Bensenville, IL/Chicago, IL
Location: Illinois-Bensenville
This includes but is not limited to general system administration, engineering, project delivery, 3rd party software installation, OS life-cycle management, performing upgrades, file system management and configuration, performance tuning and capacity management

Role Specific Responsibilities

Strong inter-personal and communication skills, capable of writing proposals and procedures for others to follow.
Act as a vendor and a user liaison in day to day activities.
Act as the subject matter expert in driving infrastructure teams to design solutions for new business applications
Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally to team members or users in general.
Capable of working closely with team members or users with complex issues in a positive manner.
Competency in problem determination and troubleshooting in the areas of system performance, security and connectivity
The ability to identify system and/or application issues and the ability to work with users and/or vendors if needed to resolve issues.
The ability to monitor and the understanding of system performance. The knowledge to be able to use system tools and commands for system analysis and tuning as needed
The ability to plan out, in detail, all tasks needed to perform maintenance at a software or hardware level. This also includes the ability to communicate and explain theses plans to non-technical teams and get approval
Ability to work outside of core hours and support on call responsibilities.
Business Partnership

Maintain contact with the business users to proactively identify needed changes
Establish working relationships with technical, business and sourcing counterparts
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Makes self available to others to help solve industry professional/ technical or business analysis procedural problems or issues.

People Management

Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed upon milestones
Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues
Demonstrate strong communication, documentation and knowledge sharing skills.
Provide input to staffing plans at the project-level to identify key / required skills

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent work experience
Typically requires 7- 10 years of relevant experience
Understanding of the technology, organization and / or business
Re-engineering / process improvement experience, leading quality improvement projects
Strong change management skills; change agent
Excellent problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to create / define metrics that accurately reflects the current state of a given process
Knowledge of ITIL and other relevant methodologies
Proficiency with IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) required
· Proficiency with IBM Tivoli Network Manager (ITNM) required
· Proficiency with IBM Netcool Omnibus required
· Proficiency with IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) required
· Proficiency with IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager (TBSM) required
· Experience with IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM) preferred
· Experience with IBM Tivoli Customer Experience Manager preferred
· Experience with HP SiteScope preferred
· Experience with BMC (Coradiant) TrueSight preferred
· Knowledge of ITIL Framework is highly preferred
